Former US President Donald Trump spoke out in praise of singer Taylor Swift.
Variety editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh asked Donald Trump what he thought of Taylor Swift – once described as “the most famous person of our time” in an article published by Variety .
“She has the qualities of a great star,” Donald Trump (77 years old) admitted. However, he continued: “I think Swift is a liberal person. Maybe she doesn’t like me. She is very talented. I find her really beautiful – unusually beautiful!”.

The Republican politician claimed that he did not “know well” about Taylor Swift’s music. “Is she a liberal person or is that just an act?”, Trump asked Setoodeh. “I’m surprised that a country music star can be successful while living a liberal lifestyle,” Trump commented.
Setoodeh informed Trump that the 34-year-old Grammy-winning singer made the transition from country music to pop more than a decade ago.
Taylor Swift has a conservative ideology, publicly endorsing Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen for the Senate seat and Jim Cooper for the House seat in October 2018.

“In the past, I didn’t want to make my political views public, but due to some events in my life and in the world over the past two years, I now feel very differently about it. I have and always will vote for any candidate who protects and fights for the human rights that I believe we all deserve in this country,” singer-songwriter Taylor Swift explained via Instagram at the time.
Taylor Swift’s June 2019 song, You Need to Calm Down , takes a dig at right-wing “free speech” advocates who peddle homophobia. Fans feel Donald Trump was the inspiration behind the song.

In the documentary Miss Americana released in January 2020, Taylor Swift explains in detail her decision to become a political voice. Later that year, the Anti-Hero hitmaker took aim at Trump for his reaction to the murder of black citizen George Floyd by a police officer, leading to nationwide protests afterward.
Taylor Swift then publicly endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden in October 2020, telling reporters that she thought Biden “has a chance to start the process of healing America.”
