Donald Trump is set to be sentenced today in New York over a hush-money case relating to payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.
The US president-elect was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records last May.
The sentencing comes just ten days before he will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, when he will become the first convicted felon to be president.
He is expected to avoid jail or a fine, after the judge indicated he would likely give Mr Trump an unconditional discharge.
Ms Daniels was paid $130,000 (£105,000) to remain silent about her claim that she had sex with Mr Trump.
Mr Trump has denied any wrongdoing, calling the charges “fake” and saying he has never had sex with Ms Daniels.
Mr Trump, who is likely to appear via video link, will be unable to pardon himself after taking office because the president’s authority to issue pardons is limited to federal criminal offences not state offences.
