Star quarterback enters transfer portal

Ohio State football is one day away from taking on the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl for the right to move on to the College Football Playoff National Championship game, but that hasn’t slowed down the transfer portal news.

Once a projected first round selection, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has elected to enter the transfer portal. The former four-star prospect in the class of 2020, Beck has accomplished a lot throughout his career with the Bulldogs including earning All-SEC honors in 2023, but after a disappointing 2024 is looking to move on.

The current starting quarterback for Ohio State is Will Howard and he won’t be returning next season, so could Ohio State be interest in snagging another transfer signal caller?

It isn’t out of the question given Beck’s physical gifts, every coach would consider the addition, but he had such a down year and the Buckeye coaching staff has provided nothing but glowing reviews in regard to freshman phenom, Julian Sayin.

In all honesty it looks like Beck was thinking of the NFL Draft and after he received a lukewarm response elected to try and collect a new NIL check. Crazier things have happened, but I don’t think Ryan Day is looking to add Carson Beck and risk the transfer of Julian Sayin.
