The former Yankees middle infielder, once the centerpiece of the Aroldis Chapman deal, will look to bounce back from an inconsistent 2024 that saw him struggle out of the gate, but become a key contributor down the stretch — and a core piece atop the Yankees’ postseason lineup.

Of potential interest to the Yankees is the fact that, with Torres expected to start at the keystone for the Tigers, Detroit suddenly has a bit of an infield logjam. While they will certainly stash some of that in Triple-A, it does become possible that some might become available on the trade market later this winter.
