Detroit Lions vs. Buffalo Bills first half live chat, open thread

The Detroit Lions (12-1) and Buffalo Bills (10-3) face off Sunday in one of the most anticipated games of the season. This late in the season, there are rarely these kinds of high-intensity matchups between two incredible teams. How rare is it? Check out this graphic;

The Lions are hoping to keep their one-game lead alive in the NFC—or possibly extend it. The Eagles and Vikings are hot on their trails, but both could drop their games this week. Philly is up against the 10-3 Steelers, while the Vikings are hosting a divisional matchup against the Bears. If Detroit wins and both of those teams lose, the Lions would be on the precipice of clinching the NFC’s No. 1 seed.

But, obviously, the Bills are not going to be a team to walk right through. Josh Allen is having an MVP-caliber season, and the Lions defense, while healthier, is still missing some key players. Buffalo has some questions on defense, and they’ll also be missing three starters in the secondary. So are we in for a shootout at Ford Field?

Until then, enjoy the game, go Lions, go Steelers (and go Bears, I guess).
