Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was ruled out of his team’s matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday after suffering a concussion.
With 9:52 remaining in the first quarter, Hurts scrambled left for 13 yards before being tackled by Washington linebackers Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner. He got up gingerly and went to the blue tent to be examined for a possible concussion.
Hurts was replaced by quarterback Kenny Pickett, who subsequently threw a four-yard touchdown pass to receiver A.J. Brown.
Late in the second quarter, the Eagles declared Hurts done for the day.
With a win, Philadelphia wins the NFC East division and remain in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the NFC postseason.
Hurts, 26, has led the Eagles to a 10-game winning streak entering the matchup. He has 2,892 yards passing with 18 touchdowns and five interceptions this season to go along with 589 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.
