Christmas is here! And you’re out of gift bags.
The dollar store often comes in handy for those last-minute shoppers and gift wrappers who suddenly realize they don’t have candy for the stocking or are out of gift wrap (and tape, the tape always runs out at the worst time).
If you want to find out if Dollar Tree or Dollar General are open on Christmas Day 2024, here is everything you need to know before heading to the store.
Is Dollar Tree open on Christmas Day 2024?
If you need something last minute, Dollar Tree is not the store to stop at on Christmas.
Dollar Tree will be closed on Christmas Day. You can shop at the store the day before or the day after. Dollar Tree’s Christmas Eve hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (check your local store’s hours to confirm). The store will close for Christmas Day (12/25/24) and then resume business at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26.
Is Dollar General open on Christmas Day 2024?
If you thought you could go to Dollar General instead of Dollar Tree, unfortunately, you cannot.
Dollar General will be closed on Christmas. You can shop at the store on Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dollar General has extended hours for Christmas Eve (the stores normally open at 8 a.m.).
Is Family Dollar open on Christmas Day 2024?
There is a bit of a running theme here. Just like Dollar Tree and Dollar General, don’t expect to be able to shop at Family Dollar on Wednesday, Dec. 25.
Family Dollar will be closed on Christmas 2024. Family Dollar will be open on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
What stores are open on Christmas?
While you might not be able to shop at any chain dollar store on Christmas, a number of convenience stores will be open on Christmas Day 2024.

Dunkin’ and Starbucks are also both open on Christmas Day if you need a last-minute gift card, or if you need a large coffee to deal with the headache of the holidays.
