There’s a protest of around 100 people outside the IDF headquarters in central Tel Aviv, with more arriving as the news of an apparent deal trickles through.

This is a group demanding a release of all hostages — not just a group of 33 as part of this initial phase of negotiations.

They’re using loudspeakers and drums, chanting and blocking traffic on one of the city’s busiest streets.

Yesterday, some of the families met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, trying to urge him not to accept a deal for only some of the hostages.

Officials in Qatar, a country that had been helping to facilitate the ceasefire negotiations along with Egypt and the US, are due to hold a press conference on Wednesday night.

Journalists are assembled in the room. Reports initially suggested it was due to start at 6:30pm local time, but more than two-and-a-half hours later we’re still waiting.

Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu says a ceasefire deal is yet to be reached with Hamas.

“In light of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s firm stance, Hamas has backed down on its demand at the last minute to change the deployment of forces on the Philadelphia axis,” the statement released by his office reads.

“However, there are still several unresolved clauses in the outline, and we hope that the details will be finalised tonight.
