GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – During halftime at Monday night’s game, the team honored Packers President and CEO, Mark Murphy.
This is Murphy’s last season as the leader of the organization, as he reaches the mandatory retirement age of 70 in July.
Another Packers legend, Larry McCarren, led the halftime ceremony, telling fans the Packers legacy has only gotten greater under Mark Murphy’s 17-season leadership.
Murphy was surrounded by family at the 50 yard line as he was honored in front of thousands of Packers fans. He received praise from Commissioner Roger Goodell and other NFL executives in a video honoring his NFL legacy. Murphy took time to thank all Packers employees for their work from the field, to the concession stands. He also extended his gratitude to all Packers fans.
“Every NFL team says our fans are the best. We’re the only ones where it’s true, and you’re also the best owners in the NFL,” Mark Murphy said.
One month after Murphy’s retirement, he will be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame as the sole member of their 2025 class.
