“The progress Bronny is making is obvious” — Lakers fans react to blowout loss to Bucks

After the week the Lakers just had, Thursday’s loss might be the most schedule loss that has ever existed in the history of schedule losses.

Playing their sixth game in eight days, the Lakers rested a whole host of players, leaving a patchwork rotation to play against the Bucks. Predictably, it went rather poorly.

While they hung around kind of sort for a while, the Bucks eventually blew it open in the second half and won going away. It was an admirable effort from a whole bunch of players who were in outsized roles.

Despite it being a blowout loss, our readers were still active in the live game thread. Take a look at the reactions as the game played out!

First quarter: “The Freak can’t handle the Keef”

Look, most of these recaps aren’t going to be pretty productive. The Lakers fell behind from the jump on Thursday as offense was a major struggle. They only managed 19 points in the quarter.

What else was clear — and would be one of the talking points postgame — was that Bronny James had taken steps forward this season.

Second quarter: “Shows you what a difference maker [Reaves] is”

The Lakers played better in the second quarter and actually won the period by four. Bronny continued to show flashes, Alex Len knocked down a 3-pointer (yes, really) and the Lakers had a little bit of life to them.

Third quarter: “Please take Giannis out. It’s not fair”

That life was short-lived. After the halftime break, the Bucks came out far more serious, made one more big push and put this game to rest entirely. It turns out that Markieff Morris was not the Giannis Antetokounmpo stopper.

Fourth quarter: “Kuz is just messing around”

There has never been a more garbage time quarter than the fourth quarter of this one. It was ugly in a way that you can’t take much of anything from it, other than Bronny looks pretty solid for a No. 55 pick that so many people lost their minds about.
