We simulated Chelsea vs Brentford to get a Premier League score prediction

Chelsea will be looking to keep up their fantastic form of late when they face west London rivals Brentford in the Premier League later today.

A 3-1 win over Astana in below-freezing conditions saw Chelsea make it five wins from five in the Europa Conference League midweek, with the victory guaranteeing the Blues’ spot in the Round of 16. Enzo Maresca’s side also enter the weekend second in the Premier League after their fantastic 4-3 win over Tottenham last weekend, with a clash against another London rival up next.

Brentford have proven to be a bogey team for Chelsea in recent years – in fact, the Bees have won three and drawn two of their last five meetings, proving just how much the Blues struggle. But, despite Thomas Frank’s side having the best home form in the league this season, only Southampton have been worse on the road, with Brentford yet to win an away game in the Premier League.

So, can Chelsea make it seven wins in a row across all competitions later today? Let’s take a look.

We simulated Chelsea vs Brentford to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries, suspensions and transfers.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Chelsea: Sanchez; Gusto, Badiashile, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson.

We predict that the Bees could set up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Flekken; Van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock; Mbeumo, Yarmolyuk, Norgaard, Lewis-Potter; Carvalho, Wissa; Thiago.

Chelsea should’ve taken the lead in the opening minute when Nicolas Jackson pushed Sepp van den Berg off the ball to go one-on-one with the ‘keeper early on, but the striker rushed his shot, firing well wide of the target. It was a dreadful miss from the striker, but he more than made up for it just before half-time when he scored the opener.

Cole Palmer carried the ball out to the left as he patiently waited for an opportunity to attack, and a ridiculous pass with the outside of his right foot picked out the run of Jackson, sending the striker through on goal. This time, the striker showed great composure, carefully lifting his shot over the outrushing ‘keeper to send the Blues into a 1-0 lead.

Palmer almost grabbed Chelsea’s second just after the restart when he tried his luck with a free-kick, but his long-range effort rattled the post, with Brentford hanging on by a thread. In the final moments of the game, a poor pass from Levi Colwill allowed substitute Kevin Schade to break through on goal, but Robert Sanchez made a terrific save to smother the striker’s shot, confirming another three points for Maresca’s side.
