The NFL playoffs start on Saturday, Jan. 11, and Sunday, Jan. 12, with the wild-card round.

What’s the NFL postseason format?

There are eight NFL divisions, four in the NFC and four in the AFC, with each division winner earning a playoff berth in each conference, along with the three non-division winners with the best records in that conference earning wild-card bids into the postseason.

The top overall seed in the AFC and the top overall seed in the NFC earn byes into the division round of the playoffs.

What is the NFL playoff schedule? (All times MST) 

Wild-card round

Jan. 11, 2025 – Jan. 13, 2025: Three games will be played on Saturday (11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 6 p.m.), two will be played on Sunday (2:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m.) and one will be played on Monday (6:15 p.m.)

Divisional round

Jan. 18, 2025 – Jan. 19, 2025: Two games will be played on Saturday (2:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m.) and two will be played on Sunday (1 p.m., 4:30 p.m.)

Conference championship round

Jan. 26, 2025: Both the NFC Championship Game (1 p.m., FOX) and AFC Championship Game (4:30 p.m., CBS) will be played on Sunday.

Super Bowl

Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025: The game pitting the AFC champion and NFC champion will air at 4:30 p.m. on FOX.

Who will be in the NFL playoffs?

Twelve of the 14 teams in the NFL playoffs have been determined with the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Los Angeles Chargers having clinched AFC playoff berths and the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders and Green Bay Packers having secured NFC postseason spots.

In the AFC, the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals are still in contention for the final postseason bid. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons are still alive for the last NFC berth entering the final week of the NFL regular season this week.
